4th Gen is a group of Ngāti Kuri rangatahi who work on collaborative projects to protect, restore and revitalise the land, sky, and ocean in the Far North. As the fourth generation descended from their great grandmother, Saana Waitai Murray, the original claimant of the WAI262 claim, these rangatahi were born into leadership and standing up for their kāinga, taiao, and people. 4th Gen are the keepers of their ancestral fires and their vision is to lead and disseminate dynamic research and practice to make a difference for our tāonga, our moana, our whenua and our people.
